How long will the batteries last?

AssetHawk can provide up to ten years of autonomous operation on two AA batteries. Battery life is influenced by several factors, including temperature, device installation and orientation, the frequency of location updates, network coverage, and more.

Can I get more frequent updates when my asset is moving?

Yes. AssetHawk includes an integrated accelerometer and adaptive tracking that increases the reporting frequency when movement is detected.

How do I mount the tracker to my assets?

AssetHawk supports multiple mounting options:

  • Magnetic Mount: A purpose-built bracket with 25kg of holding force for metal surfaces.
  • Adhesive Pads: For secure mounting when magnetic surfaces are unavailable.
  • Mechanical Fasteners: Built-in points for securing via M4 bolts, 8G screws (cap or button head), or zip ties.

How does AssetHawk support Bluetooth LE integration?

AssetHawk acts as a Bluetooth gateway, automatically detecting and capturing data from nearby Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) tags and sensors. The device supports standard Eddystone frames and utilises passive scanning to enable continuous, broadcast-only data capture without the need for complex device pairing.

What can I monitor with sensor integration?

Pairing a bluetooth sensor will allow operators to extend visibility from location to asset condition and utilisation across distributed environments. Common applications include monitoring temperature and humidity for cold chain and sensitive goods, fuel levels and engine hours for equipment utilisation, liquid levels in tanks or totes, and access events such as door openings. This additional context supports compliance, improves operational efficiency, and enables earlier detection of issues across transport, remote operations, and equipment fleets.

Can I change the configuration of my device?

AssetHawk comes with pre-configured monitoring parameters, with a default reporting frequency of 6 hours stationary and 2 hours when moving. Flexible configuration options are available, including adjustable transmit intervals for stationary and moving, as well as movement sensitivity.

Can I update the device?

Yes, firmware and configuration can be updated via the internal USB-C port.

How accurate is the tracking?

AssetHawk features high-precision GNSS tracking with a typical accuracy of 4 meters. Results vary based on real world conditions such as installation and environmental conditions.

What happens if the device loses connectivity?

The device features message buffering, allowing it to store up to 10 messages for delayed reporting if the network is temporarily unavailable.
