Experienced technology executive and member of the leadership team behind Altium’s A$9.1 billion exit, joins Myriota to accelerate its expansion and upcoming funding round.

6 August 2026 [Adelaide, Australia] – Myriota, a global leader in Satellite IoT technology, has today announced the appointment of Richard Leon as Chief Financial Officer as the company prepares for its next phase of global growth and an upcoming capital raise.
A highly accomplished public markets CFO, Richard joins Myriota following a career leading technology companies through major growth milestones, including global expansion, strategic acquisitions and successful capital raises. Most recently, he served as Chief Financial Officer at Altium Limited, returning to the company after serving as its CFO from 2008 to 2016. He played a central role in Altium’s landmark A$9.1 billion acquisition by Renesas Electronics and led a capital raise totalling A$45 million.
Between those appointments, Richard was Chief Financial Officer at Infomedia Ltd from 2016 to 2021, where he led an A$85 million raise and delivered a fourfold increase in Infomedia’s share price during his tenure.
His appointment comes at a pivotal stage in Myriota’s growth. The company is advancing its position as the global platform for physical world intelligence, enabling organisations to connect remote assets at scale and transform field data into operational insight. Richard’s experience helping technology companies navigate defining periods of growth will be instrumental as Myriota prepares for its next phase of expansion.

“Richard is a world-class technology CFO with an exceptional track record of helping innovative companies scale globally,” said Ben Cade, CEO of Myriota. “Beyond his impressive achievements, Richard is highly selective about the business he chooses to join. We’re delighted that he sees the opportunity ahead at Myriota and will help us accelerate our mission to build the world’s leading platform for physical world intelligence.”
“Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to work with technology companies at pivotal stages of growth. Myriota has all the ingredients of a category-defining business: differentiated technology, a growing global market and a talented team with a clear vision,” said Richard. “I’m excited to partner with Ben and the team to execute that vision, build on the company’s strong financial foundations and support the next stage of Myriota’s growth.”
Richard’s appointment follows a period of significant innovation and commercial momentum for Myriota, including the launch this year of its HyperPulse™ hybrid satellite and cellular IoT network and AssetHawk™ asset tracking platform. The company is now focused on translating that momentum into global customer adoption, platform expansion and long-term shareholder value.
