Myriota commercial trials to commence in early 2017

16 Dec 2016

Myriota has taken delivery of its first Myriota Development Kits and is on track to launch several trials in the coming weeks.

Myriota Business Development Executive Tom Rayner said there had been strong interest in the technology from people from a wide range of industries.

“Myriota’s technology allows cost effective transmission of small amounts of data from any location on earth,” he said.

“It doesn’t matter if you’re involved in agriculture, mining, defence, utilities, environmental monitoring or just general asset tracking, value can be created if connection costs are low enough.”

While there has been a lot of hype around M2M and the Internet of Things (IoT), Tom says productivity or efficiency gains are driving the bulk of the interest. “Myriota’s background technology is clever and complex, but the business case is simple – if the benefits outweigh the costs then people will look to deploy.

In remote areas, costs have been prohibitive until now. Myriota solves this problem.” Early trials will focus on opportunities in mining, agriculture, asset tracking and asset monitoring.
