First joint deployments already taking place with customers in USA and Brazil

Myriota, the provider of global satellite connectivity optimized for IoT devices, today announced that it has signed a strategic partnership with Wyld Networks, a developer of innovative wireless technology solutions that enable affordable connectivity anywhere in the world. Under the terms of the agreement Wyld will deploy Myriota’s Ultralite satellite communications supporting various use cases across North and South America, the first deployments to launch will include soil monitoring in the US and Brazil.

Myriota’s UltraLite network provides global low-power, lost cost IoT sensor connectivity to a broad range of industries and geographies. Wyld Networks will be implementing its Wyld satellite IoT modem to support the UltraLite network. This will be configurable with SDI-12 and RS-485 interface options, giving customers the ability to flexibly integrate a range of different sensors.

For first customer deployments, the combination of the satellite modem with soil moisture sensors is an ideal solution for long-range IoT monitoring, saving time over manual checking, with regular data and insights on soil conditions and crop health delivered from even the remotest areas over the satellite network.

We’re excited to welcome Wyld Networks as a partner in expanding the reach of the Myriota UltraLite network. Their innovative satellite IoT modem complements our mission to deliver low-power, affordable, and scalable connectivity to the most remote corners of the globe,” said Ben Cade, CEO of Myriota. “This collaboration demonstrates the growing momentum behind the Myriota UltraLite ecosystem and its ability to support a diverse range of devices and applications.

LEO satellite connectivity is unlocking transformational business models by combining low-power, low-cost connectivity in even the most remote regions, including for the 85% of the world’s surface where there are no cellular networks,” said Alastair Williamson, CEO of WYLD NETWORKS. “We’re delighted to be partnering with Myriota, and are already working with our first joint customers to roll-out connected sensor networks.
