Why should I work with Myriota?

Myriota provides more than global IoT connectivity- we provide the foundations for IoT that lasts. Since 2015, we’ve been at the forefront of secure, low-power satellite IoT, enabling organisations across critical industries to stay connected anywhere on Earth. Our UltraLite™ network has set the benchmark for energy efficiency and resilience in narrowband IoT, while HyperPulse™ extends that capability through a 5G standards-based NTN service, leveraging Viasat’s proven satellite infrastructure.

We understand that IoT success requires more than just a signal. That’s why our IoT enablement solutions include ready-to-integrate modules, edge devices and cloud management tools, allowing partners to build faster, reduce risk and scale sustainably.

Combined with disruptively affordable plans, reliable infrastructure, and specialist IoT guidance, Myriota provides flexible solutions you can rely on – today and into the future. Learn more about our products here.

What makes Myriota’s network solutions the most secure connectivity available?

Myriota’s network solutions leverage enhanced cryptographic security, integrity and privacy features in addition to the standard security best practices.

Does Myriota have its own satellites or use the satellites of other partners?

Myriota operates a robust satellite constellation that blends sovereign assets as well as those of trusted Space-as-a-Service partners, such as Viasat and Spire.

Myriota HyperPulse™

What makes Myriota HyperPulse unique?

Myriota HyperPulse is the world’s first commercial 5G Non-Terrestrial Network engineered specifically for the IoT and its unique cost and performance constraints. Designed and operated by Myriota, combining the company’s 5G NTN architecture with L-band capacity leased from Viasat, the HyperPulse™ network features a unique optimisation layer that dynamically adjusts connectivity performance – such as latency and data volumes – in response to customer demand or environmental conditions.

HyperPulse is designed to affordably deliver the latency and data rate needed for more demanding IoT applications, where detailed reporting and richer sensing are advantageous. These include asset tracking and monitoring for heavy equipment, containers, rail cars and trailers; smart metering for utilities, environmental sensing for weather stations, soil, air and water quality monitoring; and animal management, including virtual fencing, feed optimisation and remote monitoringThe result is a global, highly scalable connectivity platform that makes it simple for industry partners to build, deploy, and scale IoT solutions anywhere on Earth.

Where is Myriota HyperPulse available now?

HyperPulse is now commercially available in the United States, Brazil, Mexico, Australia and Saudi Arabia. Click here if you’re interested in being notified when Myriota HyperPulse becomes available in your country.

Which hardware manufacturers are working with Myriota?

Myriota has partnered with Nordic Semiconductor to deliver the Myriota HyperPulse network on their low-power wireless 5G chipset solutions. By using the Nordic Semiconductor nRF9151, the smallest and lowest power System-in-Package (SiP) module for IoT deployments, device makers can upgrade their connectivity to Myriota HyperPulse quickly and easily.

Myriota HyperPulse will be compatible with other silicon platforms in the near future.

Myriota UltraLite™

What makes UltraLite unique?

UltraLite is our low-power, ultra-low cost global satellite network. It eliminates location and price as barriers to the deployment of connected devices. With millions of data messages already received from real world sensor devices, UltraLite is redefining the capability and reach of IoT.

We used a combination of company owned and partner space based assets to deliver UltraLite.

At what frequency does UltraLite transmit?

UltraLite uses the UHF band for both uplink and downlink, because it provides the best radio propagation conditions for direct-to-satellite IoT.

Read our Developer resources to learn more about Myriota Service types.

What is the size of the messages I can send?

UltraLite service is based on short messages, ideal for Internet of Things applications. Our Network supports data transmission via small messages that offer 20-1,500 bytes of user payload. This flexibility means you won’t waste battery and money on bandwidth you don’t need.

Need to optimise your sensor data? UltraLite Module has on-board storage and a microcontroller for data pre-processing and compression. Contact us, so our team can discuss options to slim it down.

How many transmit opportunities do I get per day?

The number of daily access times for the UltraLite Network is increasing all the time as we grow and enhance our ground and space infrastructure. You can review the frequency and interval of access times any time using the Device Manager

How long will my messages take to arrive?

On the UltraLite Network, message latency can vary depending on the location of your device, and whether messages are scheduled periodically or in line with access times.

Please Contact us for more information. We can discuss your goals and take you through the service in each region.

Are my messages secure?

Absolutely, we take data security seriously. Data is securely transferred with AES-CBC-256 using unique per-Module keys and full message encryption for unmatched privacy.

Your data is encrypted in flight and at rest, and delivered securely via a RESTful API with JSON.

Please read our Security and Privacy Whitepaper to learn more.

Are my messages private?

Using Myriota’s unique, patented, secure and private messaging technology, the UltraLite Module does not transmit any identifying information, such as terminal IDs, as plain text. This means both your data and the identity of your devices are secure.

What is the expected battery life of a Myriota-enabled IoT device?

The intelligent design of both our communications protocol and the UltraLite Module means you can expect as much as 10 years of battery life in the field. The exact lifetime is application dependent, contact us so our team can discuss your specific requirements.

To get an idea for what you can expect for your application type, check out our Battery Life Estimator. Please note, you must be logged into your Device Manager account to access this tool.

What type of battery do I need for the UltraLite Module?

The UltraLite Module can be powered by a wide range of readily available, low-cost batteries and power sources.

For example, you can power the UltraLite Module using just two AA Lithium batteries. Download our data sheet for more information on module requirements.

What can I use the UltraLite Module for?

More than just a modem, the UltraLite Module is a sophisticated edge computing device, and has the ability to interface with a range of sensors and devices. It can be programmed to log, preprocess, and securely transmit data to suit any number of IoT applications.

Can I use the UltraLite Module as a modem?

Yes, the Myriota SDK provides a modem example application which can be used as-is, or built on to meet the specific needs of your application.

Do you have data plans? How much do they cost?

We offer flexible, per device data plans starting from $50 cents USD per month on the UltraLite Network. We can also help work through a plan that suits your requirements. Contact us for more information.
